Heffron Centre
Maroubra, NSW Heffron Centre
Located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, the world-class Heffron Centre, home to the local community of Randwick City Council features the South Sydney Rabbitohs and community high-performance centre and NRL Standard Showcase Field; facilities to support Souths Cares’ educational and community programs; a new indoor multi-purpose sports centre with two halls to accommodate sports such as netball, basketball, badminton, volleyball and indoor futsal; and a new dedicated gymnastics centre 33 per cent larger than the existing building with high quality amenities such as air conditioning, dedicated change-rooms and bathrooms, office administration and parent / participant viewing areas.
Enduring a significant 17-year planning and approval process, this highly anticipated development is Randwick City Council’s largest ever project and will pay homage to those in the community who have persevered to bring this state-of-the-art facility to fruition.
A true anchor development for the south-eastern beaches, it enables grassroots and elite sports co-exist at Heffron Park. It is the new home for the South Sydney Rabbitohs who will move their headquarters and Souths Cares community outreach work from their spiritual home of Redfern into their south-east supporter heartland of Randwick City.
