Helicopter Support Facility

ADCO delivered the new helicopter support facility located on Garden Island, Western Australia, on the operational air base at HMAS Stirling.

Construction involved both refurbishment works and new working accommodation including office accommodation, amenities, and storage. The hangar area included a refurbished workshop and stores, new external works, data communication infrastructure and upgraded security protection. Works included alterations to the existing Helicopter Support Facility including building a new office and amenities wing for the base users.

The ADCO project team successfully completed this project despite Garden Island’s remote location, and maximum sensitivity to the delicate environmental requirements on the island, and the logistics to the mobilisation of material. Attention was also required to undertake work with minimal interference to the existing base and operations.
