HMAS Stirling Maintenance & Remedial Works

ADCO’s work at the HMAS Stirling Military Base maintenance and remedial project involved the refurbishment of 36 existing operational buildings, incorporating upgrade and maintenance works to the buildings.

The scope of works included painting, concreting, metalwork, carpentry and joinery, plastering, sanitary plumbing, roof plumbing, tiling, electrical maintenance and floor coverings including vinyl floor sheeting and carpets. Construction involved significant stakeholder management to gain access and plan each element of the works.

The remote HMAS Stirling base is located on Garden Island 35kms off the coast Perth and provides operational and logistical support to the Royal Australian Navy’s surface fleet, submarines and aircraft stationed in Western Australia. Attention was required during construction to undertake work with minimal interference to the existing base and operations.
