University of Western Australia (UWA) Reid Library Refurbishment

Perth, WA University of Western Australia (UWA) Reid Library Refurbishment

We are proud to have been the Builder of Choice for the Reid Library Refurbishment for the University of Western Australia.

A full refurbishment of Level 1 was undertaken delivering individual and collaborative study spaces, a well-being zone and staff areas, flexible, technology-enhanced seminar and event spaces for students, staff, alumni, and the broader community, inclusive facilities such as sensory rooms for neurodiverse students, a parenting room, and all-gender toilets to promote inclusion.

Work also included significant plant room upgrades on Level 4 to support the building wide services enhancement and refurbishment of the executive staff office on Level 2.

There were many unique challenges, including managing asbestos works, ensuring fire rating and compliance upgrades, and navigating clashes between existing and new systems. Despite these hurdles, our people delivered a state-of-the-art facility that seamlessly integrates modern design with heritage elements.

These improvements support UWA’s Master Plan, including the 2030 Vision, the 2025 Strategic Plan, and the Estate Strategy.
