ADCO has been engaged by Airservices Australia to deliver the construction and fit out of the Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting and Training Facility and Airport Civils. The project is integral to the Australian Government’s commitment to establishing Sydney’s second major airport in Western Sydney and forms part of the first stage of the overall Western Sydney International Airport Aviation (WSIA) project.
ADCO will deliver a new Airside Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) Facility targeting a 5 Star Green Star rating that will provide a Category 10 Service, a new Landside car park, Airside Hot Fire Training Ground (HFTG) and associated facilities. The project also includes civil works to support the installation of key navigational and safety systems on and around the runway and airport site, including instrument Landing Systems, Distance Measuring Equipment, SMR and Multi-lateration Sensor System and Fibre Communications infrastructure and systems connectivity.
These works are spread across the WSIA site and are packaged into 14 discrete work packages.
ADCO is executing the project in compliance with stringent aviation security protocols including a controlled Permitting and Approval system, tool control registers, and security chaperones for site visitors.
