This NAIDOC Week, ADCO is incredibly excited to launch our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). We have given much thought to how we want to advance reconciliation internally and in the communities in which we work and live, and have initiated a RAP Working Group. This will sustain momentum, build awareness and allow us to investigate opportunities to improve and increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment. ADCO to Build 31-Storey South Brisbane Development

ADCO is embarking on a 31-storey build-to-rent development in South Brisbane. When complete, 13-17 Cordelia Street will offer 310 residential units and deliver residents a high-end lifestyle incorporating an outdoor gym, pool, barbeque and dining area, lounge area, an outdoor cinema and associated landscaping. The development will also refurbish and showcase a beautiful heritage-listed building, highlighting its architecture and incorporating it into the complete design, using it for commercial and retail use. ADCO Supports Research Into Women’s Cancer on Pink Ribbon Day

Pink Ribbon Day is an important date in the ADCO calendar. Each year, a large number of our staff come to work head-to-toe in pink and share an extravagant morning tea to raise money and awareness for the fight against women’s cancer. Yesterday our staff in Victoria and Queensland alone raised nearly $5000 for Pink Ribbon Day. According to the Cancer Council Australia, tragically each day in Australia 65 women are told they have breast or gynaecological cancer. Cancer Council's Pink Ribbon campaign aims to raise awareness about these cancers, as well as raise funds for prevention programs, support services...

ADCO Builds Sports and Recreation Centre for WA Community

ADCO has completed the Toodyay Sport and Recreation precinct for the Shire of Toodyay, 85km north east of Perth. The new complex includes a six-lane 25-metre lap pool, a leisure pool, eight new mixed-use sports courts, soccer and rugby facilities with new floodlighting, changerooms and external landscaping. A comprehensive community pavilion with catering facilities and function spaces overlooks the new complex and the picturesque Toodyay countryside. ADCO was pleased to work with project manager Limnios & Johns and architect Cameron Chisholm Nicol to bring this important regional sports and leisure project to life.

Prestigious MBA Award Won in QLD

Congratulations to our Brisbane team for bringing home a Master Builders Queensland award over the weekend! On Friday night we were delighted to take out the top spot in the ‘Health Facilities over $20 million’ category for Jacaranda Place Adolescent Extended Treatment Centre in Chermside, Brisbane. Completed earlier this year, the facility is now open for use. We were proud to be engaged by Queensland Health to design and construct the $26 million Adolescent Extended Treatment Facility (AETF) located at Prince Charles Hospital. Rugby Legends Help Break Ground at Brookvale Oval

The first sod was turned at Brookvale Oval, marking the beginning of construction on the $33 million Stadium and Centre of Excellence project on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Our NSW State Manager John Basilisco and project team joined Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Club CEO Stephen Humphreys, Club Chairman Scott Penn, players Jake and Tom Trbojevic, acting NSW Minister for Sport Geoff Lee and Member for Manly James Griffin. Star Netballer Trials Pimpama Sports Hub

Last Friday, ADCO was pleased to welcome City of Gold Coast’s Mayor Tom Tate, Deputy Mayor Donna Gates and Romelda Aiken, star netballer from the Queensland Firebirds to our Pimpama Sports Hub site. Due for completion in late 2021, the state-of-the-art sports precinct will offer an aquatic centre with multiple pools, netball and tennis courts, a multipurpose hall, café, health centre, community centre, function rooms and carparking. Meet Aston Vaiotu, Apprentice at ADCO

We are glad to have Aston Vaiotu in our Marrickville Metro team working as a carpenter, undergoing ADCO’s Apprenticeship program. Aston also plays for Randwick District Rugby Union Football Club. Upon finishing high school, he was approached by the Club and he began his sporting career. “I knew I wanted to play Union and the Club takes good care of their players. They helped me look into doing some study while I played,” he says. “I wasn’t sure if I wanted to study but I looked into an apprenticeship.
