ADCO staff run for Youngcare

A group of ADCO staff from our Brisbane office spent the day taking part in Youngcare’s ‘The Bolt’ – a five kilometre fun run to raise money to facilitate high-care housing for people with disabilities. Our participating staff met five-year-old Hugo, who lives with the challenges of cerebral palsy and is the son of Kris McKerron, one of our Queensland Construction Managers. Overall, more than $30,000 was raised for the event. Youngcare is a not-for-profit organisation creating choice and independence for young people with high care needs by providing fully accessible and age-appropriate living spaces, grants for equipment and home modifications...

Ashmore TAFE trades facility ready for students after grand opening

ADCO has completed the new, state-of-the-art Trades Training Centre for TAFE Queensland’s Ashmore campus, Brisbane. Last week, Meaghan Scanlon MP officially opened the complex on behalf of QLD Minister Di Farmer. Education Minister Grace Grace MP was also in attendance alongside dignitaries from the state government and TAFE Queensland. A number of our staff working on the project once trained in the old facilities, including ADCO Project Manager Justin Allen, and Sarah Bowdler who is one of our first female apprentices and will now undertake her studies and training inside the newly completed facility. Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre opens to public

ADCO is pleased to have reached completion on the new Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre (GRAC) in Traralgon, eastern Victoria. The pool has opened to the public, providing a world-class health and fitness facility for Latrobe City Council. The centre now offers facilities for competitive swimming and training, leisure, community use and major events. It includes an eight-lane, 50-metre indoor pool with seating for 500 spectators, an indoor water play zone, two large water slides, a learn-to-swim pool, a cafe and retail precinct and a 25-metre heated outdoor pool. Crane successfully installed at Concord Oval redevelopment site

ADCO has gone vertical at our Redevelopment of Concord Oval (ROCO) for the City of Canada Bay, west of Sydney’s CBD. Our tower crane is a Liebherr 280 ECH with a 75m boom, and will be used to construct Building ‘A’ – housing the Wests Tigers Rugby League Football Pty Ltd and West Harbour Rugby training facilities. Thanks to Resolution Rigging Services, our crane was installed smoothly and efficiently. Check out Bond Uni’s School of Sustainable Development extension

Take a look at our recent extension and renovation works for Bond University’s School of Sustainable Development, on the Gold Coast. First built by ADCO in 2008, the Sustainability Building opened with a 6-star Green Star design rating and was the first educational building in Australia to achieve this. Designed by XL Architects, the new $6 million extension provides four additional learning studios, an open‐air courtyard and a covered rooftop balcony area for recreational use. ADCO delivers WA’s largest Bunnings Warehouse

ADCO has delivered WA's largest Bunnings Warehouse in Midland, in Perth's east. Taking on the $17 million development for Aigle Royal Properties Developments last year, Midland Saleyard now offers a new light industrial, large format retail and commercial hub. The 14-hectare development is anchored by Bunnings, offering a 11,000m2 warehouse and external works including the Bunnings service yard areas and the creation of 550 new carparking bays for the store. The site respects its historical significance, located on the site of the former Midland Saleyard WA livestock centre which serviced the state’s railways and agricultural industries for the previous 100 years. Ryan James trains with junior Batemans Bay Tigers

Ryan James, current Ambassador for ADCO’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and Canberra Raiders prop, visited our Batemans Bay Regional Aquatic, Arts & Leisure Centre last weekend, where he met our project team and trained with the local junior rugby league team. Our project borders the Batemans Bay Tigers home ground, so we invited Ryan to come down to visit – he gladly set aside time in his busy schedule to meet us right before the NRL season kick-off. “A fit worker’s a happy worker,” says Renee Henderson, who runs Renovate Fitness based in Brisbane’s north.
