ADCO Picks Up Two MBA Awards on the Gold Coast
ADCO is pleased to have picked up two regional Master Builders Queensland Gold Coast awards! In a livestream event ADCO was announced winner in the category ‘Education Facilities over $10 million’ for our Bond University Health Sciences and Medicine extension on campus in Robina. We also took first place in the ‘Commercial Building ($5 million – $50 million)’ category for our Mazda Australia Pty Ltd Showroom in Southport. Congratulations to our hardworking project teams on the Gold Coast!
Sod Turn Marks Beginning of Waves Baulkham Hills Construction
ADCO and The Hills Shire Council celebrated the beginning of construction at our Waves Aquatic Centre site in Sydney’s north-west suburb of Baulkham Hills. Construction Commences on $35M Tafe Gippsland Development
ADCO is excited to have commenced construction on TAFE Gippsland’s $35.5 million redevelopment in the regional centre of Morwell, east of Melbourne. Stage 2 works will see the construction of Morwell Trade Skills Centre. When complete, the MTSC will be used to provide training in electrotechnology, new energy systems, instrumentation and plumbing trade training with specialist workshops, lab facilities and more general-purpose classrooms. The design and construct project saw ADCO finalise La Trobe’s world-class sports teaching and training facility, offering teaching spaces, labs, offices, six multi-purpose indoor courts and a plaza with incorporated landscaping. Construction Begins on Brisbane Mixed-Use Health Development
ADCO is proud to be Builder of Choice on a new mixed-use development for our client Wren Street Health Investments. The eye-catching, new medical centre will be located just 200 metres from Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital in the inner-Brisbane suburb of Bowen Hills. ADCO has commenced on site, and when complete in October 2021, the $25 million medical centre will incorporate four levels of medical suites, one level offering a day surgery and seven levels of parking. ADCO Commences Work on AGWA Rooftop Redevelopment
ADCO is very excited to begin work on an important redevelopment for Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA). AGWA’s existing rooftop will undergo a major transformation to offer 'Elevate' - an open-air sculpture walk featuring pieces from the State Collection, a multi-purpose venue with capacity of 500 people, a new internal gallery, sky bridge, external lift and a 34-metre artwork by Noongar artist Christopher Pease. Existing conservation labs occupying the rooftop will be relocated to the basement and see improvements to better preserve WA art. ADCO Wins Brisbane MBA Award
ADCO won a Master Builders Queensland award for the Brisbane region – we took out the category ‘Health Facilities over $20 million’ for building Prince Charles Hospital Extended Adolescent Treatment Facility, now known as ‘Jacaranda Place’. Opened by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk earlier this year, Jacaranda Place is the first of its kind in Australia. The $27 million facility was co-designed by consumers, carers and their families, offering a 12-bed residential unit, a 20-place day program and integrated vocational and training programs. Large Boab Tree Transplanted at Port Hedland Site
Our team at Port Hedland International Airport was pleased to assist with an important yet unusual job – transplanting a Boab tree estimated to be over a century old to a much safer location. ADCO’s project SwanCare Leisure Precinct in Perth has won the Australian Institute of Architects [WA] 'Urban Award' and received two commendations in the 'Public Architecture' and 'Lighting' categories. Congratulations to our architect partners Iredale Pedersen Hook on this remarkable accomplishment! The precinct provides the Bentley Park campus with a two-storey leisure centre, incorporating a library, gymnasium, indoor heated pool, fitness centre, club room and resident lounge and multi-functional rooms.
