Important Milestone Hit at Bennetts Green Retail Development

ADCO has hit an important milestone at our current Bennetts Green Retail Development, 15km south of Newcastle — the erection of tilt panels to the third of the Large Format Retail buildings has now been completed. The $65m project occupies a massive 80,000m2 stretch of land along the Pacific Highway and includes tenancies for Spotlight, Anaconda, Bunnings, and a number of other confirmed national retailers. In conjunction with building works, ADCO is also undertaking substantial roadworks, electrical infrastructure provisions and lighting upgrades to the Pacific Highway, plus upgrades to surrounding council areas. ADCO’s Elevation Secondary College Built for VSBA Opens for Students

Elevation Secondary College, Craigieburn, in Melbourne’s north is one of the new schools ADCO built for Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) as part of the 2020 New Schools Program. Open for the first day of the 2020 school year, Year 7 students attended their first day of high school in brand new, state-of-the-art facilities, which consist of classrooms, specialist and administration buildings, hard courts and associated landscaping and on-site parking. ADCO is pleased to have built a total of eight new schools across Victoria for VSBA as part of the 2020 New Schools Program.

Construction Flying High as Crane Installed at QANTAS Flight Training Centre Site

Things are ramping up on site at the Qantas Group Flight Training Centre — yesterday our Tower Crane was installed seamlessly, and piling is now complete. Last year, ADCO was selected to deliver the $90 million Flight Training Centre, due for completion in 2021. The state-of-the-art facility is located adjacent to Qantas’ Mascot headquarters and will house 14 flight simulators, ten static cockpit devices and an emergency procedures hall containing a pool for water landing training, aircraft cabin mock-ups and classroom facilities. Toodyay Sport and Recreation Precinct Celebrates Final Concrete Pour

On Friday, ADCO celebrated the last concrete pour at Toodyay Sport and Recreation Precinct, 85 km east of Perth. To celebrate this milestone, we hosted 20 Local Shire Councillors including the Hon. Martin Aldridge MLC (WA Member for Agriculture), high school representatives, project sponsors and future coordinators and swimming teachers of the pool. When complete in August, the precinct will provide two swimming pools, multiple tennis and netball courts, soccer and rugby facilities with new floodlighting, changerooms and external landscaping. Plenty of Records Broken at the 2020 Corporate Triathlon Melbourne

Well done to all our athletes in Melbourne for putting in a solid effort at Australian Corporate Triathlon Series. On the weekend, 10 ADCO teams went down to Elwood Beach for a race in the sun. We placed 4th in the ‘Construction’ category and we were particularly proud to have beaten last year’s time by 3 minutes (not to mention many personal records being smashed)! ADCO Begins Work at Osborne Park Hospital

Last week, construction started on Osborne Park Hospital’s $15m Rehabilitation and Neonatal Nursery project for the WA Government. In an event attended by WA Minister for Health Roger Cook, Member for Balcatta David Michael and Member for Kingsley Jessica Stojkovski, the first sod was turned on site, symbolically marking the beginning of site work. The project will see an update of Rehabilitation and Women's and Newborn Services by extending and refurbishing existing facilities. Yanny Douglas Nominated for Leadership Role on NAWIC Mentoring Committee Board

ADCO is pleased to congratulate Yanny Douglas for taking on a vital leadership role at NAWIC WA (National Association of Women in Construction). Yanny was voted in as Chair of the Mentoring Committee at NAWIC WA. Currently a Contracts Administrator at ADCO, she has worked in the industry for 12 years and having taken part in the Mentorship Programme is well-placed to lead and manage the initiative. ADCO Donates 25 Laptops to Pimpama State School

ADCO has gladly donated 25 laptops to the students of Pimpama State School, adjacent to our Pimpama Sports Hub construction site on the Gold Coast. The laptops were passed on to delighted school captains and Principal Marius Marx, who said that the devices would be particularly invaluable for student NAPLAN testing. ADCO’s Prince Charles AETF Names ‘Jacaranda Place’ by QLD Premier

On Friday, the Adolescent Extended Treatment Facility was launched with a new name — ‘Jacaranda Place’, announced by Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk in a poignant opening speech. The first of its kind in Australia, ADCO began building the $27m mental health facility in late 2018. Jacaranda Place was co-designed by consumers, carers and their families. This allows for the best space for young residents and their journey to recovery.
