Sod Turn Marks Beginning of Construction of WA Sports Precinct
ADCO celebrated the sod turn of the new $13m Toodyay Sports and Recreation Precinct, 85km north-east of Perth. Federal Member for Pearce Christian Porter led the ground breaking, which signified the beginning of construction and the culmination of over 40 years of project planning. Due for completion in May 2020, ADCO’s WA team will build two swimming pools, multiple tennis and netball courts, soccer and rugby facilities with new floodlighting, changerooms and external landscaping. Grand Opening Celebration for Woolworths Mt Pleasant
Last week, Woolworths Mt Pleasant in Perth’s south was opened in a public ribbon cutting event by the Mayor of Melville, Russell Aubrey. This was accompanied by a Welcome to Country by Walter McGuire of the Nyungar people, the original custodians of the land on which the development sits. The $21m, ADCO-built development has a site area of 5500m2, offering a 2925m2 ground-level Woolworths store, 1721m2 of specialty tenancy space, a BWS, a café and two underground parking levels with bays for over 300 vehicles. NSW Project Wins Prestigious Architecture Award
Shellharbour Civic Centre has won an award in the ‘Public Architecture’ category at the 2019 New South Wales Architecture Awards, announced by the NSW Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects on Friday. ADCO was delighted to work with architects DesignInc Sydney (in association with Lacoste+Stevenson) on the $60m community hub. We would like to congratulate everyone involved in the project. ADCO Completes Western Sydney’s Costco Distribution Centre
ADCO has finalised the completion and handover of Costco Distribution Centre, built on a large site in Kemps Creek, Western Sydney. Located at Oakdale Industrial Estate, Costco has consolidated its offices and distribution facilities into one hub. This hub will be a launchpad for the American business's large-scale expansion across the nation. Construction saw 20,000m3 of concrete poured for the 80,000 m2 of concrete hardstand required for parking heavy vehicles, in addition to the depot and offices covering a gross floor area of 23,180m2. ADCO Completes Australia’s Largest Homeless Facility
The largest homeless facility in Australia, Ozanam House, was opened last Friday by The Hon Richard Wynne, Lord Mayor of Melbourne Sally Capp and the Board of VincentCare Victoria, including CEO Quinn Pawson. ADCO was delighted to have delivered the unique, North Melbourne short-term accommodation facility for VincentCare. Ozanam House offers 134 rooms across 10 storeys, a medical clinic with dental care services, gym, café and a learning and tech hub with free wifi and cloud storage. ADCO’s involvement on the $40m project included the demolition of the two existing buildings and the construction of the new Ozanam House.

Bond University’s ADCO-Built Swimming Pool Ready for Use
Bond University celebrated the opening of its new ADCO-built, 25-metre swimming pool with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Bond staff, notable alumni and ADCO personnel were among the large crowd that gathered to witness the occasion. Bond Vice Chancellor Tim Brailsford, ADCO Chairman Judy Brinsmead, Australian Olympic swimmer Andrew Baildon and Olympian and ADCO scholarship recipient and Bond student Melanie Wright cut the ribbon and announced the facility open. NSW Rugby League Centre of Excellence Open in Time for State of Origin NSW
ADCO was proud to be named Builder of Choice for NSW Rugby League's Centre of Excellence at Sydney Olympic Park. Working with architects Populous and project managers APP, ADCO delivered the Centre of Excellence earlier this year, and the building will be used for the State of Origin 2019. Facilities include a gym, changerooms, a hydrotherapy centre with plunge and resistance pools, medical rooms, 60-seat theatre, café, dining and lounge areas, museum and administration facilities.
