NSW teams spend a day helping the community

ADCO’s NSW staff stepped away from their jobs for a day to help the communities in which they live and work. Last Monday we held our NSW Community Day, where staff members and project partners gave a day of their time, expertise and resources to local organisations that needed a bit more support. Additionally, almost $200,000 worth of time, materials, plant and equipment was contributed by our people and our project partners on the day. ADCO delivering $26m Costco warehouse outside Perth

ADCO is pleased to be delivering Costco Wholesale’s new Casuarina retail development, 30km south of Perth. The $26 million project will see ADCO build the new Costco warehouse covering 14,600m² gross floor area over the 62,723m² site on Thomas Road, adjacent to the Kwinana Freeway. Construction on the project warehouse and external and carparking works is set to begin soon and will aim for a completion date and grand opening of later this year, accompanied by an onsite Costco fuel station to be open a few weeks earlier. Fit out complete for Monash’s ‘Securing Antarctica’s Environmental Future’

ADCO has proudly completed Monash University’s ‘Securing Antarctica’s Environmental Future’ (SAEF) fit out. In response to rapid change in Antarctica and the South Ocean, the SAEF Program, funded by the Australian Research Council and participating organisation, will deliver world leading research that will forecast environmental change across the Antarctic, deploy effective environmental stewardship strategies, and secure Antarctica as a natural reserve devoted to peace and science. This space will provide a home for the SAEF community on Monash University’s Clayton campus and enable interdisciplinary collaboration of SAEF national and international partners and collaborators. Women of ADCO Christmas holds toy drive for young QCH patients

A huge well done to our Queensland Women of ADCO group, who held their second annual Toy Drive for the Queensland Children's Hospital Foundation. They outdid themselves this year with their fantastic donation coming to over $4,500! The Queensland Children's Hospital Foundation raises funds to provide patient and family services, critical equipment and medical research. Toys are given to sick children at QCH who have no choice but to be in hospital over Christmas. Pimpama Sports Hub opens for use

ADCO is thrilled to have completed Pimpama Sports Hub, the City of Gold Coast’s most significant community infrastructure project to date. Construction began in October 2019 in two separable portions, divided by a natural watercourse. The hub was opened gradually over the course of the project. ADCO director Tom Hill joined Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate on a tour around the precinct. The sports hub now offers users a top-quality aquatic centre with five pools, café, fitness centre, community centre, meeting and function rooms, multipurpose hall, eight tennis courts, a 12-court netball facility, parks, car parking and a new signalised intersection...

Newman Hospital site fundraiser shines light on mental health

Our Newman Hospital project team in WA’s Pilbara region held a fundraising and awareness day for the Blue Tree Project, shedding light on the issue of mental health. A tree at the main site entry gate (which was identified to be removed as part of the project scope) was covered in blue, water-based paint by workers while they shared the issues they have experienced since being away. Stunning AGWA rooftop opened by Premier

ADCO is proud to have completed a major transformation of The Art Gallery of Western Australia | AGWA’s rooftop. In November, the stunning development was opened by WA Premier Mark McGowan in a sunset event featuring special guests and Aboriginal performances. AGWA’s existing rooftop was redeveloped to offer ‘Elevate’ – an open-air sculpture walk featuring pieces from the State Collection, a multi-purpose venue with capacity of 500 people, a new internal gallery, sky bridge, external lift and a 34-metre artwork. ‘Haven House’ opens to young residents

ADCO was delighted to celebrate the opening of the newest home for Property Industry Foundation (PIF) in Sydney’s Inner West, alongside PIF and Stepping Stone House representatives, project partners and future residents. The ‘Haven House’ in Dulwich Hill was recently finished by ADCO and our project partners to support PIF’s commitment to providing funds towards housing homeless youth. Stepping Stone House is now running the house, the third of its kind on the street, providing a place for young residents to feel safe, empowered to learn life skills, study and provide a greater sense of stability. Smoking ceremony and KARI award won as Sydney staff return to office

ADCO’s Sydney staff were welcomed back to the office with a smoking ceremony and celebration barbeque. Our staff welcomed Leslie McLeod, a Yuin, Dharawal and Ngarigo custodian and loreman to perform the smoking ceremony, in which the office premises and staff were smoked and cleansed, to welcome everyone back to the office. Les also taught ADCO staff some Aboriginal culture, language and history from the North Sydney area, which is well-known to be rich in Aboriginal history. ADCO to deliver Bendigo rehabilitation facility

ADCO is delighted to begin building the Bendigo Health Day Rehabilitation Centre for our client Victorian Department of Health (VHBA). We will be delivering a new hydrotherapy pool along with outpatient rehabilitation, allied health, dental, mental health, renal dialysis, breast screening and diabetes education all in the Bendigo Hospital precinct. The ageing East and North Wing tower buildings, built in 1958 and 1972 respectively will be demolished, and the area converted to open green space for patients, visitors, and staff to enjoy. We look forward to delivering this important project with ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects for VHBA and the greater Bendigo community.
