Newman Hospital site fundraiser shines light on mental health
Our Newman Hospital project team in WA’s Pilbara region held a fundraising and awareness day for the Blue Tree Project, shedding light on the issue of mental health. A tree at the main site entry gate (which was identified to be removed as part of the project scope) was covered in blue, water-based paint by workers while they shared the issues they have experienced since being away. Stunning AGWA rooftop opened by Premier
ADCO is proud to have completed a major transformation of The Art Gallery of Western Australia | AGWA’s rooftop. In November, the stunning development was opened by WA Premier Mark McGowan in a sunset event featuring special guests and Aboriginal performances. AGWA’s existing rooftop was redeveloped to offer ‘Elevate’ – an open-air sculpture walk featuring pieces from the State Collection, a multi-purpose venue with capacity of 500 people, a new internal gallery, sky bridge, external lift and a 34-metre artwork. Construction utilised 75t of steel, 180,000 screws to fix down 13,500 linear metres of decking boards, 27t worth of glass installed...

‘Haven House’ opens to young residents
ADCO was delighted to celebrate the opening of the newest home for Property Industry Foundation (PIF) in Sydney’s Inner West, alongside PIF and Stepping Stone House representatives, project partners and future residents. The ‘Haven House’ in Dulwich Hill was recently finished by ADCO and our project partners to support PIF’s commitment to providing funds towards housing homeless youth. Stepping Stone House is now running the house, the third of its kind on the street, providing a place for young residents to feel safe, empowered to learn life skills, study and provide a greater sense of stability. Smoking ceremony and KARI award won as Sydney staff return to office
ADCO’s Sydney staff were welcomed back to the office with a smoking ceremony and celebration barbeque. Our staff welcomed Leslie McLeod, a Yuin, Dharawal and Ngarigo custodian and loreman to perform the smoking ceremony, in which the office premises and staff were smoked and cleansed, to welcome everyone back to the office. Les also taught ADCO staff some Aboriginal culture, language and history from the North Sydney area, which is well-known to be rich in Aboriginal history. ADCO to deliver Bendigo rehabilitation facility
ADCO is delighted to begin building the Bendigo Health Day Rehabilitation Centre for our client Victorian Department of Health (VHBA). We will be delivering a new hydrotherapy pool along with outpatient rehabilitation, allied health, dental, mental health, renal dialysis, breast screening and diabetes education all in the Bendigo Hospital precinct. The ageing East and North Wing tower buildings, built in 1958 and 1972 respectively will be demolished, and the area converted to open green space for patients, visitors, and staff to enjoy. We look forward to delivering this important project with ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects for VHBA and the greater Bendigo community.

Lyn O’Brien appointed to NAWIC national board

ADCO gets to work on Clydestone Square commercial development
ADCO is pleased to be delivering the Clydestone Square mixed-use commercial development in south-east Melbourne, for H.CO Property Developers. We were delighted to officially begin work on site after a sod turn with our client H.CO, architect Rothelowman, structural engineers Adams Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd, services engineers JBA, and project managers Gallagher Jeffs, alongside ADCO’s Victoria State Manager Lakshu Adaikalavan. The project features three separate, uniquely designed buildings – two of them double-storey and one four-storey building with basement carpark. Team ADCO rides to raise money for homeless youth
Last Friday, Team ADCO participated in the annual Tour de PIF charity ride in the beautiful hilly terrain of the Yarra Valley, Victoria. It was terrific to see such large numbers of ADCO staff from all different parts of the business, coming together and getting back on the bike for a great cause. Our team raised $5,000 and overall, the event generated $112,000 for youth homelessness. Station car park expansion open for community use
ADCO was incredibly proud to open West Ryde Commuter Car Park to the community alongside Transport for NSW and the Minister for Customer Service, Minister for Digital, and Member for Ryde, Victor Dominello MP. The outcome of the project in Sydney's north west was an increase in parking spaces from 54 spaces to 155 spaces in the commuter car park adjacent to West Ryde Station. The project also included work alongside the rail corridor including new rail corridor fencing, an update to security systems and upgrade of the existing substation, as well as landscaping and Park&Ride services.
