ADCO selected as Builder of Choice for Port Hedland Airport redevelopment

ADCO is pleased to be Builder of Choice on an important redevelopment of Port Hedland International Airport's terminal building.

ADCO has entered an ECI arrangement with the Client, PHIA, to provide construction expertise on the $30m project, designed by architects Woods Bagot.

The new terminal will be approximately 800sqm larger than the existing facility and will offer a modern and welcoming interior. Functionality improvements and the latest developments in terminal design will provide the Port Hedland community and the broader Pilbara region a safer, updated facility.

Flexibility, sustainability and future growth were key considerations in the design.

Future use of the terminal is expected to increase from the current 400,000 passengers passing through annually, and the 50 commercial flights per week direct to Bali, Brisbane and Perth.

Project completion is due for the second quarter of 2021, with construction to be undertaken in a live environment.
