ADCO Staff Meet with the Future Leaders of Construction
Last Friday, our WA team met with students at Jolimont Primary School, Perth.
Kylie Pasalich’s Year Two students were given three challenges which saw them learn how to read and understand project briefs, prepare design responses to the brief and build a prototype.
The project brief involved understanding a client who collected toy cars and needed a garage with very particular specifications to store them safely. After, students were invited to nominate their buildings for the Jolimont Building Awards.
The activity highlighted professions involved in commercial projects — students became architects, engineers, builders/managing contractors and tradesmen for the day.
Safety and learning about proper PPE use was an important part of the day — everyone received high-vis jackets and hard hats to keep!
Led by Luiz Aguiar, it was an incredible learning experience and all the kids had heaps of fun in the process. Well done students!
