ADCO’s Award-Winning Mari-Mari Ba Project Builds Vital Support for Vulnerable Women & Children
Community has been central to the ADCO story for over 50 years and we are proud to have recently delivered an important piece of housing infrastructure for the QLD Government Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works.
The Mari-Mari Ba project located at Eight Mile Plains, a southern suburb of Brisbane City consisted of the revitalisation of a centre that has provided refuge for vulnerable women and Children in Queensland for over half a century.
The development undertaken by our people added seven two story buildings to the existing site with four homes in each which is surrounded by shared landscaped open space. An integrated communal hub has provided space for essential support services with another five homes located above the hub.
In the landscaped surroundings there are sheltered BBQ facilities, a yarning circle and parking facilities.
We are honoured that the project was recognised at the 2024 Master Builders Awards picking up the Community Service Facilities Award, further highlighting ADCO’s commitment to excellence in construction.
It has been great to work with our client, trade partners and consultants on this project that will continue to aid vulnerable women and children seeking assistance in our community.
