Brisbane Airport Carpark: Innovative Progress and Key Achievements

Our Brisbane Airport Carpark team have made innovative progress, collaborating with our precast partner, LTE Structures, since April to design and construct five six-storey precast stair and lift cores.

Using innovative match-casting techniques, we have achieved a fast, precise, and practical method for constructing the cores, with the heaviest cube weighing an impressive 40 tonnes. The use of pre-cast lift cores will improve productivity rates for the completion of the superstructure which will result in reduced construction program.

Key achievements on this project to date:

/ 3 of 5 cores installed—each full-height installation completed in just half a day using a 250T mobile crane.
/ 719 piles completed.
/ 2,095m³ of concrete poured.
/ 3,860m³ of fill exported.
/ 340 tonnes of steel reinforcement installed.
/ 52 pre-cast columns installed.
