Building the Future: Powering Green Transit
ADCO is excited to announce the completion of the Brisbane Metro Depot—Australia’s largest and most advanced electric bus depot, now powering Brisbane’s Metro services.
Located on a 10-hectare site at Rochedale, this state-of-the-art facility represents a landmark achievement in sustainable public transport infrastructure for Brisbane City Council.
Some of the project highlights include:
- 65 Chargers installed, including 5 fast chargers to keep the electric fleet moving
- Over 2,300 solar panels producing clean energy equivalent to powering 280 homes annually
- 5 Star Green Rating for sustainable design, with rainwater harvesting and recycled water for vehicle washing
- Onsite maintenance and staff facilities to support seamless operations
Strategically located on School Road, the depot integrates directly with the Southeast Busway, ensuring smooth, efficient service for the people of Brisbane.
Key construction highlights include:
- 400,000 hours of work by our dedicated people and trade partners
- 500 tonnes of steel and 25 km of cabling installed
- Concrete laid across an area equivalent to 3 football fields
- Materials removed equal to filling 60 Olympic swimming pools
