Diving into the Future: The Transformative $75M Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool
We are delighted to celebrate the successful completion of the Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool for our client Glen Eira City Council. This transformative $75 million redevelopment has brought a modern and inclusive aquatic facility to the community, incorporating a wide range of amenities designed for people of all ages and abilities.
The project involved the demolition and removal of existing pools, extensive earthworks, and the construction of a new facility featuring:
/ A heated outdoor 50-metre pool
/ An outdoor water play area
/ Separate diving pool with 1m and 3m springboards
/ Indoor warm water program pool and 25m learn-to-swim pool with moveable floor
/ Spa, sauna, and steam room for relaxation
/ Accessible change facilities and community spaces for all ages and abilities
/ Indoor Program rooms for fitness classes
The centre’s hero façade, crafted from red brick, timber, and concrete, pays homage to its mid-century design while providing a contemporary look. Plus, we are proud to share that the Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool is one of a few aquatic centres in Australia to achieve a 6 Star Green Star certification for its environmentally sustainable design and is on track to also achieve as-built certification.
From solar panels to energy-efficient systems and water-saving features, this facility is designed with the environment in mind.
This project represents a commitment to quality, sustainability, and inclusivity. We are proud to have contributed to the creation of a state-of-the-art facility that will serve the Carnegie community for years to come.
