Grand Opening Celebration for Woolworths Mt Pleasant
Last week, Woolworths Mt Pleasant in Perth’s south was opened in a public ribbon cutting event by the Mayor of Melville, Russell Aubrey. This was accompanied by a Welcome to Country by Walter McGuire of the Nyungar people, the original custodians of the land on which the development sits.
The $21m, ADCO-built development has a site area of 5500m2, offering a 2925m2 ground-level Woolworths store, 1721m2 of specialty tenancy space, a BWS, a café and two underground parking levels with bays for over 300 vehicles. ADCO worked with architects Hames Sharley on the project, culminating in a visually striking build. ADCO finished before schedule to meet the client’s desired opening date.
The artwork screen featured on the front façade is a superimposed expression of the jacaranda tree created by the artist Paula Hart, honouring the iconic flora symbol of the area.
