NSW project wins prestigious architecture award
Shellharbour Civic Centre has won an award in the ‘Public Architecture’ category at the 2019 New South Wales Architecture Awards, announced by the NSW Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects on Friday.
ADCO was delighted to work with architects DesignInc Sydney (in association with Lacoste+Stevenson) on the $60m community hub. We would like to congratulate everyone involved in the project.
The hub features council chambers, a large modern library with an interactive children’s play area, offices, 170 parking spaces, a city museum, a cafe and a 350-seat auditorium for public events. Outside the building is a public plaza with landscaping and public art. The project also attained a 5-star Green Star rating.
