Sod Turn at Pimpama Sports Hub Marks Beginning of Construction
ADCO has commenced work at Pimpama Sports Hub. In a sod-turn ceremony yesterday, City of Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, Deputy Mayor Donna Gates and ADCO board member Tom Hill broke ground, witnessed by Council staff, project team and community members.
Due for completion in 2021, the sports precinct will offer an aquatic centre, netball and tennis courts, a multipurpose hall, café, health centre, community centre, function rooms and carparking.
The aquatic centre will provide a 10-lane Olympic standard pool, an indoor 25-metre pool, learn-to-swim pool and an outdoor children’s pool.
Pimpama Sports Hub will be 100% energy self-sufficient, and will be the largest community infrastructure project Gold Coast City has ever taken on.
“We are pleased to be Builder of Choice on this landmark project for the Gold Coast community – we have a proven track record of Sports and Recreation projects in Queensland and across Australia, and have proudly completed several iconic community projects for the Gold Coast,” said ADCO’s CEO Neil Harding.
